The European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI) is a network to boost innovation in European agriculture and forestry. The EIP-AGRI works to foster competitive and sustainable farming and forestry that ‘achieves more and better from less’. It contributes to ensuring a steady supply of food, feed and biomaterials, developing its work in harmony with the essential natural resources on which farming depends.
The EIP-AGRI is based on the idea of creating partnerships and connecting people. The EIP-AGRI contributes to the dissemination of knowledge, new and existing, in terms of agricultural innovation across the EU. The EIP-AGRI works with existing European policies: such as the European Rural Development policy or the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, which enable the emergence of new projects in European agriculture and forestry.
The EIP-AGRI network is facilitated by the EIP-AGRI Service Point constituted of seven organisations, including AC3A. The AC3A team (representatives from the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Pays de la Loire and New Aquitaine, and from AC3A) organises and facilitates Focus Groups, workshops, seminars and works on communication activities.
Focus Groups: A group of experts from all over Europe working on a specific topic. 20 experts – farmers, foresters, advisors, researchers… are selected through an open call. The main ai mis to catalyse innovation and disseminate knowledge on existing practices. The experts work together for 1 year and they meet at 2 meetings during this time. More information on Focus Groups here.
Workshops and seminars: The EIP-AGRI Service Point regularly organises events also on specific topics. Often, participants are also selected through an open call. The idea is to bring together between 70 and 150 people from the farming and forestry sectors to work together to identify barriers and solutions. See the results from many previous events here.
