"Sustainable farming for peatlands"

SAVE THE DATE ! SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE FOR PEATLANDS

On December 14 and 21, 2021, the European Carbon Connects project invites you to participate in two European conferences that will address the different possibilities of adopting “sustainable agriculture for peatlands”. This event will bring together, among its speakers and audience, many European and international agricultural actors such as farmers, landowners, researchers, advisors, stakeholders from all over North West Europe to discuss challenges and opportunities to support the restoration of peatlands.

This two-sessions webinar will focus on:

  • challenges to restoring degraded peatlands
  • solutions to maintain a farmland with sustainable agriculture practices,
  • and how to support it through financial incentives mechanisms and new bio-based business models.

A few words about the Carbon Connects project:

Carbon Connects aims to reduce the high carbon footprint of peatland soils in Northwest Europe by introducing new bio-based business models developed for sustainable land management practices.

Peatland restoration is an important component of the world’s journey to net-zero carbon emissions. When healthy, peatlands are incredible carbon stores and potential carbon sinks – yet, if allowed to degrade, they threaten biodiversity, release pollutants into the environment and thwart climate change mitigation and adaptation goals everywhere.

🗓 🕗Join us starting at 8pm on Tuesdays, December 14 and December 21, with a grog or a Christmas tea! 🎄🎄
