The European Commission has launched a public consultation entitled ‘Towards a circular, regenerative and competitive bioeconomy’ to update the European Union’s bioeconomy strategy, the new version of which is due to be adopted at the end of 2025. The SCALE-UP project contributed to several policy recommendation documents presented during this consultation:
- A joint policy brief from the European projects SCALE-UP, RuralBioUp, BioRural et MainstreamBIO, entitled ‘From strategy to action for a regional, participatory and sustainable bioeconomy in the EU’. This policy brief brings together the conclusions and recommendations of the four projects, outlining key recommendations for the future of the European bioeconomy, with a particular focus on strengthening its regional dimension.
